B.C. minimum wage to increase

Rate to go up 75 cents per hour

British Columbia’s general minimum wage rate will rise from $8.75 per hour to $9.50 starting Nov. 1.

The rate for liquor servers will increase from $8.50 per hour to $8.75 on the same day. The minimum rate for live-in home support workers will rise from $87.50 per day to $95.

The minimum rate for live-in camp leaders will go up from $70 a day to $76.00. The rate for resident caretakers with nine to 60 suites is set to increase from $525 a month, plus $21.05 per suite, to $570 a month, plus $22.85 per suite. The minimum rate for resident caretakers with more than 60 suites will rise from $1,788.28 per month to $1,941.56.
