Service Canada makes changes to ROE Web

New online legal agreement will replace paper version

Service Canada is changing the Record of Employment (ROE) Web service on Oct. 16 to include an online legal agreement.

There will also be new security features, a simplified ROE Web registration form and a consent form for payroll service provider clients.

Companies already registered for ROE Web will have to have their ROE Web administrator (primary officer) accept a new online agreement when he logs in to ROE Web after Oct. 16.

All ROE Web users will be prompted to complete a professional profile and identify security questions the first time they log in to ROE Web after Oct. 16.

Employers and payroll service providers that have a paper agreement have until September 2012 to accept the online agreement. After this date, employers and service providers that have not accepted the new online agreement will have to contact Service Canada to reactivate their access to ROE Web.

If the primary officer at an organization has left the company or is no longer in that role, the company will have to choose a new officer who will have to complete a Change of PO form.
