Parents of newborns in Saskatchewan will now be able to apply for Canada child benefits while registering the birth of their child.
By partnering, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), and eHealth Saskatchewan have made it easier for new parents to apply for federal and provincial benefits.
"New birth bundling package will make it quicker and easier for them to access government services related to the birth of their child," said Minister of Health, Dustin Duncan.
The improved live birth form will include a bundle of ESDC, SIN, child care benefits, health card, and birth certificate applications.
Subsequently, new parents will be able to open a Registered Education Savings Plan.
The bundle service is already available for parents living in other provinces.
